How to Get Involved with St. Friends of the Poor

Our mission to permanently house vulnerable New Yorkers comes to life when friends of the poor get involved year-round.

There are many ways to get involved with St. Francis Friends of the Poor. In July, local artist G.B. Bellamy hosted an art and poetry workshop for our residents, and our corporate partner Evercore hosted an assembly kit event to help us welcome new tenants.

You can learn more about each below and rediscover ways to get involved with the St. Francis Residences, from donating to volunteering to becoming a corporate sponsor. Everyone can lend a helping hand.

ART & POETRY WORKSHOP WITH G.B. BELLAMY

Art is at the heart of our community.

Our robust arts program allows tenants to express themselves using the medium of their choice. Last month, tenants enjoyed an art and poetry workshop with local artist G.B. Bellamy and explored new ways to express themselves. G.B. is an acting major at Syracuse University and dedicated this summer to giving back by sharing his talents.

ASSEMBLY KIT PARTY WITH EVERCORE

Our partners at NY Cares and Evercore helped assemble 500 welcome baskets for our tenants.

Their dedication enabled us to warmly welcome new tenants just exiting the shelter system. Upon arrival at the St. Francis Residences, each new tenant will receive valuable items such as cleaning supplies, socks, shower essentials, and more!

Individuals and corporations can make an impactful gift to a program that resonates with their goals.
